Best credit card for expenses

Does anyone have any recommendations for a credit card that isn’t Amex for work expenses inc hotels, fuel etc? Would quite like to earn airmiles/rewards but really just want some advice please. Having looked at MSE the rewards ones they recommend are Amex and previously I’ve found they don’t seem to be accepted in as many outlets. TIA

I’ve got an MBNA duo of cards where I get a Visa and an Amex on the same account. You get a point per £2 spent with the Visa and a point per £1 with the Amex, so I always try to use the Amex but if they don’t accept it I can use Visa.

Only thing is it’s an Emirates card so the rewards are quite specific! Im sure I’ve seen similar “duo” cards previously though.

Failing that I have an MBNA MasterCard that gives me 0.5% cashback on all my spending.

I think 0.5% cashback or something that is 'cashlike' to you like vouchers for a shop you use a lot is the best you can hope for these days as they've massively reduced merchant fees and are making noises about restricting the amount of interest they can charge people who are struggling with debt, so there's a lot less in the system available for cashback these days.

I have a Barclaycard that gives 0.5% cashback but I've had it for years and don't know if anything like that is still available.

BoS I get my cash back in cash (we’ll credit paid on to the card) paid annually.

I've got a John Lewis partnership card which gives 1% on spending in JL and Waitrose, .5% on everything else, and you get it back in vouchers for JL/Waitrose.
They add up!
