Mortgage Application Halifax- Overdrawn!

Hi all!
I need to put my mind at ease... I'm starting to have sleepless nights...
I am EU national, living and working in Uk for 5 years. I have an NHS permanent job.
My spouse is from Colombia, living and working in Uk for 4 years, visa as EU family member to be renewed in a couple of years ( not much of a problem)
We have a joint income of £69000.
We had an offer accepted in £220000. 10% deposit of £22000.

We are Ok in affordability and when seeking around almost every bank was willing to hand an agreement in principle. We bank with Halifax and decided to go direct with Natwest ( MISTAKE, always go through a broker!). Put application forward, everything was fine according to advisers and after 2 weeks our application came declined. On our 3 month bank statements was reflected that in January we went over our overdraft ( of £100!) by a total of £60. This was due to some confusion in regards of my partner's bonus that took a while to be processed and we paid it immediately.

Yesterday we went to a broker that is very confident that we will get the mortgage with Halifax... he thought that was my partner's visa that bothered Natwest and the fact that we did not have a big deposit they were very strict.
Our credit score is fine.

Anyone on the same situation? Is it possible to get a mortgage with Halifax eventhough you have just been in unplanned overdraft by accident?
Any thoughts... welcome, we have to look for a place to live as we have already refused to renew our current tenancy agreement and this is getting too stressful.

Thank you so much!

One explainable dip into a small overdraft on an account that is well managed and shows you are living well within your means won't make a difference. Good luck OP Halifax can move very quickly so hopefully your mind will be at rest very soon!

Hi!
Thanks for your reply!
Just as I have been reading many threats from many "worried" people without knowing the end of the story...
We have been verbally offered the mortgage!! hoping everything goes smooth now and can move in soon!
