Need some help. No money for months

So I've been living on nothing and trying to stretch etc. I'm in debt due to my employer underpaying me for months so I'm in trouble for that next month. I can't claim SMP and payday is Friday. So now I'm having to send off for maternity allowance.
My wages have gone on bills and debt.
And dp was let go from his job in December. He signed on in January and was told early Feb he needed to do the forms for Income based jsa as NI contributions weren't high enough.
Took them over 24 days with no contact. No money to be told they'd fucked the forms up an they needed redoing.
So it's been 10 days tomorrow since we sent them off. It's been 3 months with fuck all and I'm getting into trouble very quickly. What would citizens advice do? How can I sort out these claims??
I'm £200 off the rent due tomorrow. So I'm fucked.

Payday loans? G back to work early so that you start earning while your partner is looking after the baby and looking for work? So that going forward you can work shifts around each other?

Tell your landlord before the rent is due - don’t let the date come and go.

OldHag1 · 12/03/2018 21:39

Surely the job Centre could give him a emergency payment. He should ring them or see his advisor.

I wouldn’t get a loan if I was you as you will be in a worse situation as you won’t be able to pay it back.

Why is your employer short paying you? If it’s pregnancy related and not previously agreed they can get into a lot of trouble. Ring ACAS for employment advice,

Can you sell anything? You need to prioritise bills so important ones are rent, council tax, utilities and food. Write to your creditors saying you cannot afford to pay at the moment and ask them to freeze the accounts.

Biscusting · 12/03/2018 21:43

Contact your landlord immediately and pay what you can in rent.

Any debt your paying off just now will have to wait, contact them and come to an agreement, increase the term to reduce payment or see if a payment holiday is an option.

What’s DP doing? He needs to be walking the streets looking for jobs and being proactive. Even volunteer to get a chance at a future job!

Currently just listed the last of my things on ebay. So now I have nothing personal left. Dp is trying really really hard but struggles due to disabilities. He's applying for everything but not getting any luck. Lots of interviews. But no jobs. He has to anyway for the job centre but he wants one to support and pay for our dcs.

OP, we're sorry you're going through such a difficult time.

We just wanted to pop on with our usual reminder that although we love the fact that Mumsnet is such a source of support for people, we can never know for sure who anyone is on the internet, and we wouldn't want anyone to give more than they can afford to lose, either emotionally or financially.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 05/04/2018 18:53

Trying to find more info for you OP. Have you applied for a hardship payment?

It may be worth popping into the CAB. Ours does drop in sessions- you don't need an appointment. Does your local one do that? If so, try to get there early- ours is usually packed later on!

Heratnumber7 · 05/04/2018 19:00

he wants one to support and pay for our dcs

That's a fine ambition, but while he isn't in a position to support and pay for DCs, can you do it?

Are you looking for a job? Or can you go back to work early if on mat leave?

19lottie82 · 06/04/2018 09:42

Payday loans?

Worst suggestion EVER - please don’t go down this route OP!

It’s been 3 weeks now so I hope your OH has managed to secure some work. If not then get him round registering with all the temp agencies in your area, they should be able to find him something.
