Better off - full vs part-time?

I am currently trying to work out whether I will be better off returning to work full time after maternity leave or part time -three or four days a week?

I am trying to factor in whether it is worth working full time when you factor in childcare/going above child benefit threshold etc.

Does anyone know of any online calculators that can help me see the difference in take home pay?

Thanks very much!

Google the salary calculator co.uk
On my phone so can't link.

Also take into account that nursery is often cheaper for 5 days than 4.

If you're likely to go over child benefit threshold, then you 50-60k + per annum in full time employment? Assuming 60k, working those Fridays will mean extra £600 per month after tax. An extra day at he nursery will be 300 (assuming a very expensive area, e.g. central London). You'll also get more pension contributions. However, from a lifestyle point of view it might be nice to work fewer days. That's my plan.

Thank you both!

Also factor in commuting costs (there is only a marginal difference here of the cost of 5 days travel to 4 days). So you get an extra 20% income, but your expenses are unlikely to go up by 20%.

Still wasn't worth it to me but it's worth factoring that in to your decision.
