CSA advice

Looking for some advice , my Ex didn't want to pay maintenance so CSA got involved but at a distance , worked out how much he should pay and then we set up a standing order and they checked in every now and again to make sure he was still paying etc, at the time he was a sales assistant so not earning a great deal at all really and pays £144 a month that agreed with what CSA said was minimum. Any who fast forward 4 year hes has two new jobs and I know he's been promoted in current job he bought a house and car ect and really got on his feet but the money has stayed the same, CSA closed our case about 18months ago as he hadn't missed a payment, the issue is i don't really need the money although it would help but I can afford to support my DS. EX can be quite nasty and controlling and mean really and I never stand up to him but I feel like this is also unfair, so would you poke the bear and get more maintenance to save for DS or leave it how it is since there is no drama and he's not giving me any trouble anymore ?

Why did they close your case just because he hasn't missed a payment you would have had to agree to it surely?
So if after 4 years he's still paying you £144 monthly I would try a polite email / text along the lines of ... I appreciate your contribution of £144 for X over the last 4 years, however as you can imagine cost of living etc has increased / Xs needs have become more expensive (insert as you wish) therefore I was wondering if you would increase your contribution to support X to £* per month.
NB: Perhaps ask for slightly more than you would hope for.... if he is willing to increase it and he says less than what you ask- you're happy and he's happy cos he thinks he's paying less than what you require. If it's a blatant no and you're not bothered about the money I would just say ok just thought I'd ask. If you really want him to pay more it would be a case of having him reassessed by CMS.
