I’m trying to see if I was charged ppi on a car loan I had from Arnold Clark in approx 2003. How do I find out who provided the loan? I can’t find any paperwork relating to it Sad

Phone and ask?

robertaplumkin · 06/02/2018 11:21

the PPI people will do it for you just tell them this much info.

HeyMacWey · 06/02/2018 11:27

Don't use ppi companies as they'll take a commission.
Lots of guidance on money saving expert.
Phone Arnold Clark and ask them for the details.
There's lots of stuff on Google about Arnold Clark and ppi so you should be able to get to the bottom of it all.

Although I've just had a look and Arnold Clark weren't regulated until 2005 so you may not have a case.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 06/02/2018 11:41

What do you mean they weren't regulated?

HeyMacWey · 06/02/2018 11:57

Sale of insurance backed products from car dealers was not regulated by the FSA until January 2005 so they don't fall under the ppi rules.

you don't have to follow through on the PPI claim. they will confirm whether or not there was PPI before you claim/commit to commission.

Hi there , I am also on to AC for miss sold selling of PPI 2007!
The Ombuman has just sent me a letter telling me AC do not give them permission to look into it! & I should have complained sooner , I would have if I knew anything about PPI.
I found out about it when I seen AC name on the resolver on the Martian Lewis site.
You could try Resolve on Martian Lewis site . Good luck!
