Does this sound doable?

Thinking of making some life changes that affect income. Do you think 2 adults, 1 child, can live as follows:
Total income £30,000 p.a. (it's complicated, but assume that is after tax)
Mortgage of £600 pcm
Some large bills needed, for house (bathroom, kitchen etc) but we can pay these in our own time.
We are currently probably spending all that we earn, but we have substantial savings. We don't want to dip into them though until retirement.

Of course, that is more than doable.

It depends what type of lifestyle you are you used to and what type you want to maintain.

I mean ideally we would like an annual holiday, newer car etc. But none of that is essential. Also, once the big house jobs are complete it will be easier. Just weighing up whether I should return to work. I would like the extra money (everyone likes extra money! :)) But not the stress.

£30000
Utilities on average are £500 a month for ours including sky TV broadband gas electric etc. So with your mortgage it would be 1100. Approx 1500 / month left for food entertainment etc..
