Tax on second part time job.. How does it work

So my first and current job is 7.5k,roughly a yr. 600pcm

Ive been offered an opportunity to work elsewhere too which fits perfectly around my job for 10k, per year.

How would the tsx work as I'd be over the personal allowance?

Personal tax allowance £11,500.
7,500 used so 4000 left.
10k job, uses 4000 if allowance, then you would have income tax of 20% on the remaking £6000, so Income Tax of £1200.

Tax thresholds change in April, so this is just an example, the principle remains the same. Initially you will start the second job on Basic Rate tax (20%) but once payroll has been submitted you can then ask HMRC to split your personal allowance between your jobs, so you have say £7500 of allowance allocated to job A and the remaining allocated to job B.

I work 2 part time jobs earning around 11k on each. I pay hardly any tax on one job but am highly taxed on the other( well the normal 20% but seems a lot of tax to pay on what I come out with ). I may split my tax code between the 2.
