Humour me.....
I need a mortgage of £138k. I have had a dip for £161k but I'm still panicking like mad I won't be approved. I haven't used an overdraft in about a decade and have about £100 in credit debt.
Just been through my bank statements and I've had cash left over each month a few hundred usually plus I have another account with a buffer of an average of £1500-2000 in every month.

Am I worrying about nothing?

Yes , if you have a DIP and you haven't withheld info e.g. Previous bankruptcy then you have nothing to worry about.

No nothing to hide but thin credit history as don't really use it. Got my credit score from Noddle they gave me 3 out of 5 and 'fair'

Ignore your score, it’s really worthlesss in these kind of situations.
From what you’ve told us, I wouldn’t worry.

Any more advice?

What advice do you want? As 19lottie82 has already said, you are unlikely to have a problem however none of us can say for definite as we don't know your exact circumstances.

Have you spoken to a broker or submitted a mortgage application yet?

I used London and country as advised on here. I got my dip as above and I rang them again today but I'm still flapping

Try and stop worrying, you should be fine. L&C would have told you I'd they thought there would be a problem. In fact if you are buying a house, getting the mortgage is usually the least stressful bit!

friendshipfloss · 19/01/2018 21:12

It sounds like you are worrying about nothing! As long as you have disclosed everything and can supply all the paperwork required, you will be fine. Important to have a good address history that you can provide proof of if necessary. But you have passed affordability and all things being equal, should sail through the next stage.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 19/01/2018 21:28

Thanks folks I hope so!

You'll be fine. The dip is a good indication that you will awarded a mortgage within the £160k.
I know how nerve wracking it is though, you have my sympathy. I was so worked up about it I cried with relief when the acceptance came up on the screen! Our poor mortgage adviser (youngish lad in his early 20's) didn't know what to do with himself! Blush

Afro - the l and c blokes have been so nice to me. I am over researching though just realised they include student loan repayments (deducted from salary) as committed spending so flapping about my dti score now but nothing ventured.

I got a dip from
Halifax which I bank with anyway with a credit check so hoping for the best.
