Tax on a trust

Dh and I are in the process of sorting out our wills. I have a rental property which I want to leave in trust for any children of our marriage. Does anyone know if the income will be taxed on the basis of the trustees' tax rates or whether it is tax free because the beneficiaries are minors? I think the taxable income is below the personal allowance anyway, but that might change if the mortgage is paid off...

If you mean the rental income I think that is taxed regardless, like savings income.

Thanks for posting. I think I will need to speak to someone who really knows about trusts and tax! I just had this recollection that the trustees had some right to the income of a trust so it they received it, presumably it would be taxed because they will have used up their personal allowance, whereas the children (obviously) don't work and would be unlikely to whilst minors, so the income wouldn't attract tax, especially when split between the two...
