Universal credits

I can't sleep,my universal credit payment due on Friday,is way lower than normal. Yeah,I can ring them in the morning, but they're not going to change this. I accept it,because I know they can do what they like, but wondering is anybody else on here experiencing the same problem? Or shine a light on why?

Bexter801 well are you going down the subject access request route to find out exactly how much you owe and how much as been paid back, if your debts have been paid back or nearly paid back then you you can go to CAB armed with the details of your debts and repayments and get advice from them and as I have already pointed out some organisations have to suspend repayments if you are disputing the amount owed and are waiting for your SAR (which by law has to sent to you within 40 days) I have no idea if UC has to follow that rule so you need to find that out.

Oldsu I can't figure out if your trying to be helpful or that your lecturing me! Yes I will try find out, cheers

It's an understandably stressful time OP, things will work out, you see.

This is the DWP's internal guidance/rules for third party deductions:
www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/661504/admd2.pdf
(available from www.gov.uk/government/publications/advice-for-decision-making-staff-guide)

Third party deductions cannot be made for arrears relating to a previous property. Source: D2119 in the document linked to above ("the third condition [for a third party deduction for rent] is that the claimant occupies the accommodation to which the debt relates").

Do you have rent arrears at your current property, or other debts?

You have one month from the date of the decision to submit a challenge (mandatory reconsideration) - CAB can help with this.

And I'm paying off 2 debts from UC payment, which I've yet to find out what for
