Maternity Allowance - full-time employee

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone could help me get my head around this!?

So I'm in a new(ish) full-time job currently but really aren't enjoying it, and I'm coming up to 15 weeks pregnant with my first. However, I've seen my old job is going for more money and at the moment it would be a lot more convenient and less-stressful to go back.

Obviously going back would mean I wouldn't be entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay, but I've read online that I could be entitled to Maternity Allowance which could be around the same amount (£140) for 39 weeks.

Although it all seems very vague as to what I might be entitled to, and what the eligibility criteria is, and most of the threads I have read on here are about those who are self-employed.

Is there anyone else that has been working full-time and has ben entitled to MA? And if so, how much did you get ad did it depend on your partner's earnings or anything like that? Me taking my old job back depends massively on me being entitled to this as we couldn't get by on his earnings alone.

Any info would be appreciated - thanks in advance!
