There was a slippery mess on the floor, shampoo, or something, a kitchen towel on it, but nothing else,, no yellow sign, my dd was in it,,, i went to stop her falling and fell flat on my backside. very shocked and upset.
however eventually someone came over, helped me up, and kept apologising. but nothign else.... obviously they should have had a yellow sign but surely the should have done more than that. went to se them a week later but need to see manager.
still in pain.
anyone any idea where i stand,

go to doctors and get the damage on your records. Apart from that don't know.

LIZS · 21/04/2007 17:48

No record in accident book ? What are you asking for ?

elasticbandstand · 21/04/2007 17:49

no they didnt put record in accident.. i wnt in today and another memeber of staff obviusly knew aobut it and told me to see the manager on monday. they really should have at least put in in accident book. but if i don't recover i may be ableto sue.. that is what i am getting at..

What do you want to happen?

elasticbandstand · 21/04/2007 17:50

if i dont recover, some compensation..

Have you been to the doctors? I would think before you consider sueing someone you should at least find out if there is any damage.

elasticbandstand · 21/04/2007 17:51

thanks, off to docs monday..

Yes, you may be able to sue - for damages if you don't recover and are incapicatated.

But why don't you see if you get better first.

elasticbandstand · 21/04/2007 17:52

so should i demand they put it in accident book at least!

hercules1 · 21/04/2007 17:54

If you intend to go down that route then yes you really need to make sure it's recorded in their accident book and maybe you get given a copy.

but honestly if it affects my work i should be able to get compensation ..

zippitippitoes · 21/04/2007 17:56

absolutely no point trying to sue for a minor injury

hercules1 · 21/04/2007 17:56

I agree happy girl. But let's say it turns out that the op is permanantley injured and so unable to cary out her normal life because of a stores negligence. Why should they not contribute something towards this?

If someone was simply using a fall as an opportunity to sue then that is different ofcourse.

i knew someone who slipped on a banana skin in sainsbury;s, and sued... why no point?

if she wasn't bad enough to see a doctor then it is hardly worth the candle

zippitippitoes · 21/04/2007 17:58

but you didn't break a hip

elasticbandstand · 21/04/2007 18:00

interesting, everyone in RL tells me immediatey to sue... or at least get some form of compensation..
