Housing benefit & council tax

Currently receiving the four week run on of working/child tax credits from work - handed my notice in 27th Sept.
My partner was helping out with bits & pieces but has now decided to walk away; now have literally the last two weeks of my tax credit run on left then no income. Have been looking at everything online but because I am getting the tax credit run on I can't find anything to say the way forward; every time i do a calculation I get really low answers because of the tax credits.

I'm freaking out massively about how i'm going to pay everything. Has anyone left work & then had to apply for housing etc that can give me an insight please?

if you are your partner have split then you need to close your joint tax credit claim and open a single one. Your new claim will take a few weeks to sort out so you may be without money for a few weeks . If you have kids under 5 then you can claim income support, if not then JSA. Ring housing benefit and make a claim . You will need to update them when income support and child tax credits are awarded.

Was only a single tax claim as he hadn't moved in yet. Can I still claim JsA with the tax credit run on? I've told them i've finished work so they have all that info, but i keep getting told i can't do anything until it finishes.

Yes you could try claiming JSA but they may sanction you for giving up your other job but it would depend on the reasons you gave it up.
