My M&S credit card is not contactless, but as others have said it may be because it was issued before this technology was common, so I assume it will be different next time it is renewed. You really need to speak to your own bank and see what they can offer. Surely they want to keep you as a customer?

Thank you so much everyone SmileSmileSmile

Will show thread and links to DH when he gets home

I think DH will go into branch tomorrow and ask cos they were quite rude to him on phone

We don't have any debt on them as we pay them off in full each month

The amount you can swipe at a time has gone up to £30 per transaction

I don't think we should have to explain to them why we don't want it, we are the customer so think they should allow us to choose like our new debit cards are non contactless

I didn't even know you could get contactless credit cards.

I wouldn't want one either, my credit card limit is higher than the amount I ever have in my current account and I wouldn't want to think it was all at risk.

Luckily my card doesn't expire for a couple of years so I hope it will have been sorted by then

Cakescakescakes · 05/10/2017 17:42

Nationwide. All my nationwide cards are non contactless although you can have the option if you like. My credit card has just a few weeks ago been replaced and it isn't contactless.

Freshprincess · 05/10/2017 17:45

Royal Bank of Scotland. I suspect this is because it expires next year, rather than it's their policy.

JassyRadlett · 05/10/2017 17:49

John Lewis credit card isn't contactless

The new ones are - I got a replacement earlier in the year and it’s contactless.

dramallamakarma · 05/10/2017 17:53

Marbles cards aren't contactless

abigailgabble · 05/10/2017 20:40

@Becca19962014 i've heard you can disable it with a small scissor snip in the right place. google will tell you more!

TheGuffalo · 05/10/2017 20:44

I inadvertently disable mine all the time Hmm

gamerchick · 05/10/2017 20:46

There is a way to disable them. It’s on the net somewhere.

Becca19962014 · 05/10/2017 21:19

Thanks Abigail I'll have a Google!

HandbagFan · 06/10/2017 17:38

My M&S credit card was renewed earlier this year and isn't contactless still.

PeteMe · 06/10/2017 17:42

TSB give non-contactless.

Doublegloucester · 07/10/2017 17:47

Can't believe people would do that to you, how awful Angry

Danglingmod · 07/10/2017 17:50

I never knew there was such a thing as contactless credit card - thought it was only debit cards

Anyway, ours is Tesco bank and not contactless but, like others, that might be it's just not been replaced yet?

MongerTruffle · 07/10/2017 17:53

Why so many CAPITAL LETTERS?

MyYoniFromHull · 07/10/2017 17:53

My Nationwide credit card is not contactless. New one due soon though so I don't know if it will change

Crumbs1 · 07/10/2017 17:54

I don't have contactless anything. I'm a bit mistrusting of them, to be honest. I understand how they work but think it would be quite easy to develop a scamming system.
