My sales have dried up. Is everyone currently skint?

I'm just wondering what it is I'm doing wrong, or whether it's simply because no one has any money this month. My online sales have pretty much dried up and after talking to a friend she suggested that it might be because after the excesses of the summer holidays and purchasing new school uniform etc everyone is broke.
So my question is, is september typically a time of year when you yourself are feeling a bit skint? Or is it no different to any other month for you?

Not skint, but very pessimistic about the next 8 months cashflow so not buying luxuries at all

I m skint but still spending because people still have birthdays even if I have to buy uniforms, and I'be also started buying Christmas gifts to spread it out. Don't blame the time of year! Slumps often come after books in small business as while you're selling well it's easy to take your foot off the pedal when it comes to marketing!

After BOOKS not books. You need to make time to keep your marketing up even when you're selling well otherwise it all suddenly dries up

Argh, BOOMS!!!BOOMS NOT BOOKS!!

Not quite skint but getting there... uniform costs, book costs, bus season ticket costs, forthcoming school trip costs. Won't be spending til November.

I'm skint as it's a long month, we got paid early due to the summer bank holiday and now my salary needs to stretch a week longer than it wants to!

Isn't it more likely that the web algorithms have changed so people don't find your site when they search for the product online? If you're off the radar, so to speak, the clients will never find you.
