How much does your husband earn?

jessmiddleton · 04/08/2017 07:18

I have tried the government website and phoned them. They can't advise me what to do as they are not allowed, my husband earns just under 25 k a year so times are pretty tough but we have managed so far but I know with a little one one one the way things get a little more expensive! Thanks in advance Smile

Child benefit, maybe maternity allowance if you have worked fairly recently, possibly some tax credits? Entitledto website should give you an idea.

www.entitledto.co.uk This calculator is pretty good.

When did you last have a job? If you were employed for at least 26 weeks during the 66 weeks prior to your due date (effectively 6 months during the last year up till now) then you will qualify for maternity allowance for 39 weeks which can start now if you want, and take the pressure off a little for the early months.

Whereabouts in the country are you? £25k would be ample to live a comfortable though not luxurious life in some areas.

Thanks everyone will try have a look, we live in Cornwall so sometimes the wage doesn't match the living standards (expensive housing)
