Renewing tax credits online and stat maternity pay

Hi, hoping someone can help so I don't have to go calling them, I'm renewing our claim for the first time snd attempting to do it online. I did the calculations on the renewal pack they sent out. My p60 details that I received £7947 statutory maternity pay, I took 39 weeks maternity leave. I have minused £3900 off my total income for the year as from what I can see you only deduct £100 for each week of maternity leave. This left my income for the year £18000.

Now, when I enter my details online it asks for my total income, I have submitted the 18k figure rather than the 22k figure on my p60 as there is nowhere else online to input the maternity pay figure. Could anyone tell me if I've done this correctly? I'm terrified of making a mistake. I'd be so grateful Flowers

Others may be able to give you a tailored answer to your question, but as my partner a few years back faced a large tax credit repayment we thought would be paid back when back to work - but then got a large bill via a debt collection agency to be paid back in one lump - I would suggest talking to them, as in my experience they are very helpful, UNTIL you owe the buggers money.

I think you are right and you give the 18k as total income. Best ringing though just incase.

You've done right. Because of the discrepancy it may be checked, but if it is and they need anything from you they should write to you

You have done it correctly. Tax
Credit office will probably write and ask for evidence about why your declared income doesn't match your p60 and then you can respond.

Thanks very much Flowers
