Do you have a good credit rating and are you careful with money? If so, you could stooze to reduce your mortgage. We have cut years off ours by doing this. See stoozing.com

if you don't have any spare money there isn't a lot you can do.
other than be frugal, work extra hours and somehow try and make more money so you can overpay

get yourself a mortgage pig and stooze? (Spent on interest free credit cards and put the money you have spent on the CCS in a high earning bank till the 0% offer is up...then get another 0% card do it again...)
Spend less in the supermarket, switch heating down...etc.

Sell your husband's kidneys?

We do the stoozing without spending the money on cards, but both systems work. We pay no interest on our mortgage at all.

What is stoozing?

We've recently switche dto an Intelligent Finance mortgage. All your accounts are transferred to IF and the balance is used to pay off your mortgage in addition to your regular payments. You don't earn any interest but the theory is you'll pay off your mortgage more quickly and thus save monay on interest.

sell up if you have made a big profit and move to a smaller or cheaper house?

Bozza - see stoozing.com for a full explanation. Its where you borrow money at 0% from credit card companies and put it into a high interest account (or an account where the positive balance is offset against your mortgage) - then pay it off before any interest becomes due, usually in 6 or 9 months. If you do it well, you can have very large sums in a credit account (some people have 6 figure amounts). It is actually very easy to do and can save you thousands of pounds.
