Hello, I work for a retail chain and for the last 6 months I have been in charge for running saturday mornings and all day sunday. I dropped the saturday morning early on as I felt I wasnt spending enough time with my children on a weekend. So now i just work running the sunday.

It has come to light that I am still contracted to work my original hours (before the responsibility of running the store) and not the sunday hours I do atm. Every week it shows I am absent for 4 hours a week! Although it has been discussed and agreed they will change my contract it hasnt been changed.

So my question is....as I am so sick of running the Sunday, can I go back to my original, no responsibility weekend hours without complaint because it is still states on my contract that is what I am suppossed to be doing? I am just so sick of the responsibility tbh and its just added aggrivation for no extra pay.

TIA btw

for no extra pay you should just go back to old hrs IMO

do you think the managers would go for it? contractually (sp) you should be able to but its at their discretion

good luck xxx

so if you go back to old hrs you will get MORE pay?

Edmond · 21/03/2007 08:45

It works out to about £4 difference! I think i get £4 more for running the Sunday which imo is very little money for loads more responsibilty and hassle
