Default - worried about my family finding out

I've had to default on a couple of loans with one bank as I was expecting to go on to the individual tax credits systems instead of Universal Credit. It literally came into our area 1 day before I could send in my claims. Because UC does not allow me to claim for working tax credits this meant that my outgoings were higher than my incomings, so I spoke with my bank and the only option I was given was the default route. I ok'd this and now I'm worried that my mum and dad might find out. I've disappointed them in the past with my money handling and though I've gotten better since having a baby, I'm still trying to clear my debts. I don't want to tell them that I've gotten myself into another financial pickle but now I've defaulted I'm worried they might find out. Is there any way of them finding out without me telling them?

Not unless you are financially linked to them in some way e.g. Shared bank accounts.

Thank you, I'm not but I was worried about it. Last thing I want is to disappoint them!
