Failed my driving test the other day and i want to do a second one but need to raise £105 for it. My dp said he would pay but he cant afford it either just yet. I just want to get it over and done with. the longer i leave it the more lessons i have to pay in between too and they are £20 per lesson

Need ideas how to raise some quick cash

Well unless you want to wander around late at night in a very short skirt I think your best option is ebay or a car boot - I'd probably opt for the car boot - done and dusted in one morning - but then I look like sh**e in a short skirt

im on such a tight budget with everything at the moment. my weekly shop for me and my ds is about £14 and dont think i can cut it down any more than that.

I hate being so skint

this is the one thing i have worked really hard towards and have spent so much money already. I just want to finish it and get it out the way

any leaflet drop jobs in the local paper?

i know how you feel about wanting to re-take your test, but maybe you'll feel differently in a couple of days? what did you fail on

juicychops · 13/03/2007 11:25

2 majors : - stopped to close behind a bus which was at the bus stop and as i tried to go around it, the bus pulled out at the same time. - And also one particular time i didn't signal to pull over and there was lots of trafic behind me

I always look for leaflet jobs but never anything like that in my area. Only the scam things where you have to pay money to make money etc

Dog walking or sitting? Is your home insurance due for renewal as you can earn cashback (£100+) through sites such as quidco or freefivers also make sure you insure your car through these sites - I got £100 + cashback through prudential.
Have you got a bank account with Lloyds? They are doing save the change this month and matching up to £50 (see their website).
Online betting? As it's Cheltenham races this week I expect most sites are giving free bets - might be worth a look.

hillary · 13/03/2007 11:45

would you be able to pay it back if somebody lent it to you?

LazyLine · 13/03/2007 11:50

Do you really need the lessons in between now and the next test? They are not compulsory, so if you don't feel you need them then you could cut costs that way...?

pepsi · 13/03/2007 11:54

£14.00 for a weekly shop, you are doing amazingly well to be able to do that. How about seling from home, perhaps cards or something....are your kids at school....you could just pass catalogues around the playground. I guess this is where you need the driving.

massagemum · 13/03/2007 11:57

Cleaning jobs are relatively good payers. speak to anybody you know and maybe tell people at the local school.

massagemum · 13/03/2007 11:57

What about something like avon (bit tired i know) although again this takes osme building up.

BethBoo · 13/03/2007 11:58

Was just about to suggest same thing LazyLine. Can you have lessons in a friend's car? If you are already at Test standard then practicing under real conditions may help?

Can you drive your DH to the station or wherever in the AM?

juicychops · 13/03/2007 12:00

Dont really have a social network of friends my ds isn't at school or nursery or anything yet.

I don't .
have to have the lessons in between but depending on how long it takes for me to afford the test id rather have 1 or 2 in between just to keep it all fresh in my mind

Thanks bubblerock, il look into the insurance thing ans see if i get anywhere.

after ive finished lunch im gong to have a hunt around at what i can find to sell

Hopefully there is some expensive hidden things i haven't thought about!!

Thanks everyone for your ideas so far

Bethboo, my dp doesn't drive or have a car either. The rest of my family dont live near me apart from my dad who has a company car and would NEVER let me drive it!!!

OP posts:
hillary · 13/03/2007 12:35

Can I lend it to you?

You could pay me back bit by bit?

littlemissbossy · 13/03/2007 12:42

sell stuff on ebay
or at a car boot sale
or do ironing

DrDaddy · 13/03/2007 12:47

Market research is a quick way to earn money...they pay about £40 a session for an hour or two

juicychops · 13/03/2007 15:02

ahh thats so nice of you hillary but i couldn't ask you to do that

but thank you very much
