Sahm - no money

Does anyone know of any websites or have ideas of work from home jobs for stay at home mums?

I've been a sahm mum for 2 years now and even though my dp pays the bills I never have any money to buy anything for myself. I feel awkward asking for money for clothes etc and he doesn't want us to have a joint account.

Thanks

This makes me so angry, the idea that wife work is worthless. Having to ask for money like a child?

I am a SAHM and my OH realises how hard I work taking care of our children and the house, so any money he earns is on both of our behalf. Our finances are totally shared. I also have a separate account which he transfers a budgeted amount to cover food/kids clothes/my clothes etc.
Any money coming in is family money, you should be entitled to half. The work you do at home is not without value. You really need to put your foot down OP.

Oh and I say OH but we aren't married either. That shouldn't change a bloody thing.

I'm afraid that I don't really see any way forward with this situation. It seems as if there is nothing you can do to make him part with what he sees as his money. It's a non starter. I think in your position I'd leave. Why put yourself at the mercy of some controller liike this.

You need to tell him you're going to find a job and he can sort out childcare and pay for it. Because you are done being the domesticated help who can't even buy herself clothing or a cup of tea without feeling like she's begging.

Begging the person who is supposed to love to view her as an equal partner in your marriage.

That should make him think about how he's treating you. And if he doesn't, you really do have problems.
