I am in shock at how much my house is valued at.

Have put our house up for sale today - it has gone on for £143k more than what we paid for it 6 years ago. I think I need a large g & t!

why is nothing being done about the extortionate rate of stamp duty? When we bought this house 9 years ago, the next size up was miles away from the 3% rate. Now the 3% rate applies not only to the next house but also to this one!! Surely the bands to which it applies should have gone up with house price inflation.
