Finances after divorce

My husband has apparently started divorce proceedings. I'm devastated as we have three small children, our eldest is diagnosed with ASD and our youngest is currently being assessed for ASD but not diagnosed yet. Our eldest goes to a SEN school with no breakfast club or after school clubs, so I am very limited in the hours I can work. I do work three mornings a week and pay for nursery to look after the two year old. I hope to increase my hours when she turns three and receives some free childcare.

With the additional challenges of two children being on the autistic spectrum I believe the best way forward would be for the kids to stay in their home, and my husband to visit them here. This would mean that there is one adult in the household, but with him having overnight stays two nights a week. Would that affect tax credits or council tax discounts etc? He has a new place somewhere, he doesn't receive post here and is on the council tax there. I'm also unclear on what financial support he will be providing as I don't trust him any more, but I guess only a solicitor can give me a better understanding of that.
