Is this from the CSA ??

Just checked my bank online and I have had 2 payments go ing, one for £0:01 and one for just over £46.

Next to the payment it says my NI number and then CSA BGC.

Is it from the CSA ??? If it is I have no idea why it's there as the last letter they wrote to me said xp had to pay £5.

Plus I am on IS so am not supposed to get it anyway am I ??

Anyone know ??

I did have a letter from them last week saying they worked out he still has to pay £5 from 11/12/06, which up until now is roughly the amount they have paid me I think.

But i'm not supposed to get it am I ??

Not sure, sounds like it's back dated doesn't it? Why can't the father support the child and you receive IS? It's not like £5 is enough to support them anyway!

I think ?? he should still give you the £5 Nutty because it is not measured on your income but on what they think his reasonable contribution should be.

LIZS · 10/02/2007 09:41

bgc would be bank giro credit if that helps

Fattytwoshoes · 10/02/2007 09:44

i think it is csa. they don't know what they are doing at the csa. not much help sorry.

nutcracker · 10/02/2007 09:44

Ahh always wondered what the BGC was, thanks.

It does seem like it is the £5 a week backdated.

Thing I don't get though is that xp hasn't paid anyone anything. He is on incapacity benefit though so will it have just been taken automatically ???

Do I have to inform the benefits place that I am now getting this money ??
I have no idea if i'll ever get it again as the only letter I have off them doesn't mention me actually getting the money.

Fattytwoshoes · 10/02/2007 09:44

I'd wait see if you get it again if so then tell them.

nutcracker · 10/02/2007 09:45

Ok, so I need to keep it and not spend it then ??

OP posts:
slinx · 10/02/2007 09:54

Not 100% sure but I think you can keep £15 a week of any maintainance if on IS so I think this money is yours to keep.

Double check with the benefits agency though before you spend it!

LIZS · 10/02/2007 09:55

I would at least until you can speak to someone (perhaps the lady from the advice centre who visits) about whether you need to declare it or anything.

slinx · 10/02/2007 09:55

and if he refuses to pay the CSA can apply to have it taken automatically

Fattytwoshoes · 10/02/2007 09:56

If you're worried then ask benefits i think you can have up to £10 on income support. Not 100% sure i would ring if your worried about it.
It gets so confussing what you should get what you're not allowed.

nutcracker · 10/02/2007 10:02

Just spoken to xp and he said he hasn't been paying any CSA. He has had the same letter as me, saying he has to pay £5 a week but it doesn't say how he has to pay it. I think they will take it staright from his IB.

He is panicking incase they take the whole £46 straight away...................shame

You are allowed to earn about £5 or £10 per week without it affecting your IS, so I would presume that you could be paid this amount of maintenance without any effect too.

If you are not sure, put it on one side for a while until you can clarify it with the benefits agency. Then, when they confirm it's yours, you can go on a spending spree .

Fattytwoshoes · 10/02/2007 10:13

cab could help maybe??

BandofMothers · 10/02/2007 10:17

csa are crap. Ring them. And absolutely make sure. You are allowed 10 pounds a week, before it comes off your IS.

glitterfairy · 10/02/2007 10:47

Second the CSA are crap but nutty I ring and make sure as well that is if your case worker is not off sick or moved to another job!

nutcracker · 10/02/2007 10:54

Will they be open today ???

OP posts:
charliecat · 10/02/2007 11:28

BandofMothers · 10/02/2007 12:22
