Long story but here goes:
We have terrible neighbours - well I think they are DH thinks they are just different and I am a snob (Ia m but lets leave it at that!!).
Anyway the fence panel next to our house which seperates our gardens blew down in the wind last week - I know it is their fence because our old gardener used to do the garden of the lady who used to live their and told me that she had replaced the good fence she had with concrete supports with this crap flimsy wooden fence - the one which has lost a panel - we also know from our other neighbours that the people who lived in our house before us replaced the fence on the other side after their dog wrecked it!!
Anyway - the 'new neighbours' have now put up chicken wire in place of the fence panel and stacked all the bits of old fence against it - great except now DS can't go in the garden as I know he will want to go and investigate and I don't want him getting a splinter from the wood from the old fence or being able to pet their Staffordshire Bull Terrier (I hate dogs too - something we bitterly disagree on and one of the reasons we are moving!!) - on Saturday DH asked them what they are going to do about replacing the panel as we are moving and their garden is a tip - not their fault more the fault of the lady who used to live there - but it is something I do not want prospective buyers seeing - the woman said - we are waiting to hear from our solicitor and if it is our fence will replace it - if it is your fence you can replace it but as your garden is higher than ours we expect you to replace it with a fence with concreter plinths in the bottom - DH just agreed!!
I am fuming - for one - I am almost bloody certain that it is their fence and 2 I am not paying for it all to be replaced with one with concrete plinths if it is our fence because we are moving and they must have realised that our garden was higher when they bought the house - we are talking 3 inches not 10 feet by the way!!
I screamed at DH yesterday - something I am not proud of to go and sort out a fence panel so at least our garden looks decent and go and tell them that this is what we are doing - fence panel is coming today so will be put back tomorrow and when he spoke to them they said that they are not doing anything until they have had word from their solicitor as to who owns the fence.
I know I am oversensitive but they are just so horrid - I am sure it is their fence and feel that they are being deliberately arsey because they know I don't like them.
So really all I want to know is when you walk out of your back door - assuming it is on the back of your house - whcih fence is it most likely that you own???
