As I have just finished mine, and am feeling virtuous (if broke), I thought I would nag the rest of the world.

You know you have to do it, and although personally I prefer cleaning every loo in the house, or under the fridge - it doesn't cost me £100 if I don't do those things by Wednesday.

I must get started. I MUST...

zookeeper · 29/01/2007 19:52

zookeeper · 29/01/2007 22:38

hmm will get round to it soon..tomorrow...

FrogPrincess · 29/01/2007 22:43

hehehe
did mine on saturday
phew

Skribble · 29/01/2007 22:57

I did mine last week and discovered they owe me a substantial amount of money as I had four jobs in that period and paid tax full tax on a couple of them. My business ran at a small loss so nothing owing there.

The tax return itself is the problem for me it is doing the years books in a couple of nights and then working out the tax owed is a bit of a mind squisher.

edam · 29/01/2007 23:01

Fnished mine last Fri and am still recovering from the stress! Although if I'd actually kept my books up to date it wouldn't have been half as bad.

SodWork · 29/01/2007 23:01

For those who haven't even done last years - has nobody even contacted you about it? Gosh, I'd be far too scared to leave it!!

Bink · 29/01/2007 23:05

Mine all done too, small but perfectly formed repayment due - and on its way to Davros's ds's school.

happy sigh

wheresthehamster · 29/01/2007 23:08

Oh no, it's FAR too late to start now. But will DEFINITELY do it tomorrow. Or will at least think more seriously about doing it anyway.

Skribble · 29/01/2007 23:09

Do it tomorrow the sense of relief is almost worth it .

FrogPrincess · 29/01/2007 23:15

very true
you'll feel so virtuous
After I did mine on saturday I baked a fab gingerbread for dh and a chocolate cake for dd
I am a saint (and restraining myself from looking at the cakes)

wheresthehamster · 29/01/2007 23:16

If I do it tomorrow then I can feel superior to the people who still haven't done theirs. Excellent!

FrogPrincess · 29/01/2007 23:18

and soon £100 richer too

wheresthehamster · 29/01/2007 23:18

Must go to bed now, heavy receipt-finding day ahead.

CountessDracula · 29/01/2007 23:18

have done it

zookeeper · 29/01/2007 23:40

I suppose it wouldn't be too late to drop it down to the local tax office on thursday?

Skribble · 29/01/2007 23:40

Apparently their is a queue of taxis and white vans outside the tax centres on the 31st.

zookeeper · 29/01/2007 23:52

Ihate the way that I always put everything off to the last minute ! Why do I do it? I will spend the next two days worrying about it and then probably do it in a couple of hours.

Now where's that taxi number?

Kaloo20 · 30/01/2007 00:24

Finally summoned up the courage to creep online to do mine this evening only to find a note saying I didn't have to file one. Now I have a problem.

The last tax year I didn't have to do one so this tax year they are assuming I don't need to submit one either ... but I do

Do I ... ring them tomorrow and ask them to put one on line for me (it will probably be late and I will get £100 fine interest etc and I haven't got the money to pay it anyway

or

Do I ..... keep quiet and try and save some money before the next tax year and submit two in September 07 .... and hope they don't check up on me on the mean time

decisions decisions

help me

wheresthehamster · 30/01/2007 16:14

Right. Am home from work and have an hour before I need to go out. MN or tax return......hmmmm.

I'll just have a quick check on 'threads I'm watching'.

zookeeper · 30/01/2007 16:57

same dilemma

aDad · 30/01/2007 17:15

i've amassed all the relevant paperwork this afternoon.

I go online to the site, register. Never done it online before.

then at the end of my registration they say they are sending me a PIN through the post to activate the online service. And it should be with me within 7 days. arrrgggh. it was all looking too good.

wheresthehamster · 30/01/2007 20:28

I made the same mistake last year.

I've decided to get all the paperwork together tonight, do it tomorrow evening then get dp to run it up to the tax office about 10 p.m.

I feel better now knowing that there is no need to panic.

Eddas · 30/01/2007 20:36

Kaloo, if they haven't sent you a return they won't fine you. If you ring them and tell them your circumstances changed they'll send you one but you will get 30 days(or something like that) to file it

Earlybird · 31/01/2007 13:46

Mine just completed and sent off. Whew! I'm relieved to have it done.
