We need to cut back on our outgoings-how much do you spend on groceries a week?

At the moment I've got it down from 100 quid to 60 through menu planning, but could really do with it being less. We do grow fruit & veg which will help through the growing seasons but not much now.
This includes cleaning, toileties etc for 2 adults 2 kids and a baby on the way.
How little is it possible to spend?

There is a shop near me that does refills of green cleaning products and shampoos, etc. That helps

I don't know what we spend though. We get fruit & veg from Riverford and work around what's seasonal. I'm a coward when it comes to money, just buy organically but frugally. Lots of home baking helps too.

Sounds like you're doing pretty well to me. IME it's only possible to spend much less than that if you compromise your diets, which isn't ideal. We're 2 adults and 1 baby. I did a main shop today, thought I was doing really well buying nothing that wasn't needed, lots of veg, meat for the freezer, etc. to make things from scratch. Nothing readymade at all - it still came in at over £60. Just hope it lasts more than a week.

hmm I know what you mean. It could still do with being less. I've been over to Martins site (old style) for some tips which was really useful, but I honestly don't know what else to do. Does anyone else menu plan and if so, would you post it for the week so I can get some ideas please?
