Can my nanny be my PA

Can I put my naany through my co as a PA...what are the pros and cons -- how much wudl this save me?...or would it be better to keep as nanny status and use vouchers?..what is the differnce

If you put her through your accounts as your PA you will get a deduction for her cost for tax purposes, if you put her through as your nanny you would not.

However, if you take a tax deduction on the basis of her being your PA (which is a lie) you will be guilty of tax evasion.

Also wouldn't have thought your accountants would be too keen - especially if it is a limited company.

I wonder whether people will object to this as much as some objected to the other thread about a posters relation claiming benefits and not working. WHich is more acceptable ?

Personally I think they are equally wrong as both benefit fraud and tax evasion are illegal.

However, not knowing the specifics in this case (or in the benefit fraud ones) I can't really judge.

I was in this position as a nanny ( I was 'officially' a secretary) and I can understand why you would want to do it.

It's very dodgy territory. It could send the wrong message to your nanny and send you to court. It is tax evasion.

Don't go there. Really.
