Still going strong here at bot watch HQ on MN!

Previous thread here

Botwatch on Wordpress and on Facebook

Timeless Vie on Wordpress and on Facebook

Eyespeying's Blog aka #manhun, even if he's been banned by MNHQ

Hommetepreneur on Facebook

NEW Link to the Daily Mail article of 20 May 2016 regarding an ex-bot's treatment at the hands of her 'spline' at Forever Living UK

NEW Link to NastashaBarnbotShingles' refutation of the above.

We have our own regularly returning bots to tell us how bullying and hateful we are.

Glossary:

Bots: our affectionate name for victims of the MLM racket

MLM: Multi-level Marketing schemes - essentially pyramid schemes that are just legal because you sell a product. Reliant upon constant recruitment despite there not being enough people in the world to go beyond about 12 levels if everyone recruited 6.

Downline/Upline: the people you recruited and those who recruited you (going up and down the pyramid inverted funnel)

Timeless Vie: Parody of MLM schemes (though you might spot one in particular) that also carries out fearless investigative work

Hommetrepreneur: also excellent parody site focussing on the menz

BotWatch: Rather more serious, keeps an eye on what the Bots are claiming next, particularly in reference to health and income claims. Also fearless.

Inverted Funnel: Timeless Vie is NOT a pyramid - it's an inverted Funnel, OK?

Eyes: Our former member Eyespying who knows LOTS about MLM schemes. He's still our very own #manhun.

Twunk (AKA ForeverYazoonique) has a bottle of Banana Yazoo in her fridge. She's still too afraid to drink it. Yahoo is important as seems to be the primary retail product for Life Tree World.

Just checking in folks... Its been a while!

MrshumbleBrows · 14/06/2016 11:12

I see the FL bullying has ramped up again! #stayclassy Bots!

smiinky · 14/06/2016 11:22

Leaving forever for LTW, tho. Frying pan to fire.

ForeverYazoonique · 14/06/2016 11:25

More like furnace to burning fires of hell, smiinky Grin

MrshumbleBrows · 14/06/2016 11:34

Agreed smiinky why do they just jump from one dodgy MLM to another? Its like some kind of weird self harm!

BleakBetty · 14/06/2016 11:36

I know of and follow a few of the top bots. But some of them I try to figure out and just don't know! Can anyone PM me names or initials?

MrshumbleBrows · 14/06/2016 11:36

Of course I know its due to the whole mindset brainwashing crap... Where they believe it was their fault they failed, or that it was just that MLM that was dodgy, but I still struggle to wrap my head around it.

cozietoesie · 14/06/2016 11:47

Desperation and self-doubt can affect people. If you've been warned that you're 'failing' for some reason and then you're 'love-buzzed' by another group...........? It could be like balm on wounds.

cozietoesie · 14/06/2016 11:50

Best to never underestimate the power of being told you're really a wonderful person.

MrshumbleBrows · 14/06/2016 12:04

Agreed cozie I know all the manipulation tactics, but its still hard to comprehend why they would want to continue in a zero sum game...

cozietoesie · 14/06/2016 12:10

It's hard to comprehend, Yes. But then they entered the MLM in the first place so the factors that led to that will often still be there. It's a sadness.

smiinky · 14/06/2016 13:02

I can understand the fear of not wanting to go back to 'normal job' I've worked from home, for myself for maybe 15 years now. Even through skint periods ( and you get them as self employed) I've always been like, 'nope, can't go back to that.' But I'm not in an mln. And neither is my bezzie who wfh for 10 years ( 3 different employers in that time) writing scripts for travel agents software), or my mate who is a graphic designer (splits her time between London and Asia) and a whole lot of other people I know. If you can learn to do something on a computer, you don't need to be in an mlm. Hell if you can iron a shirt, you don't need to be in an mlm. My mother was a childminder, my dad worked from home for years (still does and he's 85), no one needed to be in an mlm.

smiinky · 14/06/2016 13:05

And I suppose maybe the other reason that people stick with mlm is its because its what they know. Its exactly the same formula and scripts and process, doesn't matter which one it is, its the devil you know.

Delurker2016 · 14/06/2016 13:29

I'd always wondered how this had started and last night whilst googling I cane across the beginning of this thread! Fast forward to 4.30am I was still sat howling with laughter and saw the birth of Timeless Vie. (I now get what it means) I cringed along with you all at the atrocious spelling and actually woke people up when I laughed at the ' I can be coachablea!!! Me me!' Hilarious.

One thing though that struck me and really made me think was a poster who said she had been invited round for drinks with someone she'd gone to uni with and it turned into an FLP launch. The comments that followed said that people felt they weren't liked by people until they were useful or could buy their crap. This genuinely made me feel bad and think about people I had messaged and tried to hound, had I also made them feel like that?
I'm having serious doubts about mlm and if it really is the right path for me. I am looking at other avenues of self employment (I'm a little artistic) and will be creating something that's mine. Not something that makes me think it's mine. I have a few tricks up my sleeve and think I have been selling myself short just being a #hun.

I still have lots of threads to catch up on so have allocated time this evening for the next instalment of 'The Parslai Project'. It's funnier than television!

smiinky · 14/06/2016 13:37

Take it from me, Delurker, many skills work well from home. You've already got the independence skills that you learned. Why not try? If you're worried about taking the leap then do it gradually, you have nothing to lose.

Slugsandcabbages · 14/06/2016 16:30

I'm a bit confused as to what is and isn't ok with FL adverts etc. I'm assuming this one is making medical claims though?

Just realised you can see part of the page name there, should j request it to be deleted?

EauDeParslaii · 14/06/2016 18:17

Oh lawdy help me
I have arrived home to a "Dear neighbour" FLP bot letter through the letterbox... Please save us!!! Shock

Jonsey32 · 14/06/2016 18:26

Greetings!
Long time lurker- have actually read all 23 threads now.
Am currently being actively recruited by an old work colleague who gave up work to become a FL person.
She has sent me 4 messages so far wanting me to join up because she really wants me to spend
More time with my 7 month old son. She thinks I'm so bubbly and outgoing that I'd be aaaaaamazing at it. Truth be known I'm a right old grumpy cow and I'd be crap at it anyway!
I really worry about her particularly as she sent me a video of one of the well known bots (who lives in a castle) in order to inspire me as she has been inspired.
I just don't know how it can inspire anyone! I see right through it!!

prettyusefulsometimes · 14/06/2016 18:46

slugsandcabbages - 200 compounds Hmmm, that'll be the Mormon connection i guess Grin
Report the ad to the ASA and Facebook. Not one of those claims is true. If they were, the Utah mafia would pay for the clinical trials, licence the product and make an astronomical fortune from a plant that grows like a weed and is processed by subsistence farmers. Aaarggggghhhhh!

cozietoesie · 14/06/2016 20:00

Welcome Jonsey. Smile

Have you thought of sending her a link to BotWatch or Timeless Vie?

Jonsey32 · 14/06/2016 20:05

I've thought about it.....
She's so innocent though. She really believes this is going to happen.

I've had to get very firm with her but she is now targeting other friends.
It's so heart breaking Hmm

cozietoesie · 14/06/2016 20:13

It's very sad at times, Yes.

Maybe this is the one?

people who care about you are worried.

At least you will have tried.
