We are hoping to extend in the next couple of years and would like to have some plans drawn up and get permision ect.Had a a man come out and give us a quote.Am i not in the real world or was is too expensive. He was an established company ect.He said he could draw up plans and get the permission ect but was £2000.00 .I really thought it would be more around £500 quid !
Would like to know what sort of money others have paid for plans if pos.

We were charged by the hour, at £75 plus VAT per hour. We haven't had the final bill yet, but have been warned it will be about £1,150. That was for a very simple kitchen extension.

Depends what you're doing, but I think £500 sounds unfeasibly cheap for most extensions!

We used an architect recently to draw up plans for a small 2 story extension.

For the initial plans, planning application and then more detailed structural plans for the builders, it cost us just over £2,000.

We paid £650 for ours with planning fees and building reg fees on top, about 3 years ago. Not a company, a chap recommended to us who had worked for the council planners in the past.
