Bought DS2 new shoes from clarkes...

... because I knew his old ones were a whole size and the new measurement was a half size. I assumed they'd grown. So, he wore them to school on Thursday, all muddy and scuffed, and I then notice that they are actually half a size smaller than his old ones.

I will, of course, try to return them but I am partly to blame for not remembering his old size correctly and therefore not noticing he'd been measured smaller. On the other hand, either this time or last time, he's been measured incorrectly (and the shoes are identical styles so it's not that) and they cost £32.

Do I actually have a leg to stand on?

Because, NAB3, DSs have properly fitted school shoes and then we go and buy trashable trainers somewhere cheaper once we know the size. They are generally not in their school shoes when we go shopping.

soup - i would take the old shoes and the new shoes in together with your receipt, say the old ones where bigger THEREFORE he has been measured incorrectly as his feet couldn't possibly have shrunk !

Of course if you wish to be entirely ethical you could say it is partly your fault, but I wouldn't bother, as they should have got the measurement spot on no matter what you THOUGHT his size is.

Actually Clarks are very good with measurement and the staff are fully trained to do this, but hey they have got it wrong this time and shouldn't have relied on your memory to tell them what size your ds is !

good luck, be brave
