Help me cut down my food shop

I'm a single mum, one dd14, very little disposable income. Also a dog and 2 cats.. I'm spending far too much on food. There's a Tesco express nearby and I seem to be there every day, doing a top up shop.

Dd is veggie and I'm not, we eat a lot of salad, wraps, stir fry, a roast with bf at the weekend ..

I can get to aldi and lidl, but still need to go elsewhere for cat food and other things, e.g dd life's refried beans in her wraps, or Quorn chicken dippers occasionally ..

I drink lactofree milk and only have goats cheese.

Falafel is so cheap, I use www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/5605/falafel-burgers we've tried loads and that's our favourite and also so easy to make. Sometimes do them as burgers, or smaller balls and pop them in a pitta. Usually do some home made wedges with them-also cheap to make!

I also double up the recipie and freeze half. The defrosted ones always seem to cook better for some reason!

Thank you Miss, that's great, I'll try that.

We also have jacket potatoes with cheese and coleslaw often.

That's very similar to what we eat. Hope the advice you've had helps.

Jars of olives sun dried tomato, roasted peppers, artichoke, chutney from lidl / aldi and tinned fruit and long life milk part baked rolls for the end of the week to avoid top ups

Sign up to all the supermarkets delivery services and use all the first time shopper discounts.

Then decided with one is more cost effective.

We got a free month delivery with Tesco then 3 months with Ocado.

Midweek delivery passes are cheaper too.

Online shopping means you can budget exactly the amount you want.

So I do my shopping in a Sunday for a Wednesday delivery so I have time to add what I want and then I review it the night before to take out any impulse buys.

Some weeks we do £40 some £70 that's because of formula and nappies.

I find it much easier to see all the promotions and only buy the cheaper items.

Then I meal plan when it arrives by when it goes off.
