what is your long-term salary goal?

I work as an entry-level designer in a startup and my salary is not too exciting at the moment.

However, my long-term career goal is to become an art director at a company/ agency one day. Looking at the average pay range for such a position, I should be able to aim at a salary of 50/60k a year. So that's my long-term salary goal!

Do you have a long-term salary goal? If so, how much do you hope you will make at the peak of your career?

Just enough to be happy, pay the bills, have the odd treat and have enough savings for a rainy day. I don't have a "goal" figure wise.

QuiteLikely5 · 13/01/2016 19:01

I'd be happy with 100k but delighted with anything more ......

jevoudrais · 13/01/2016 19:09

Don't have one really. It's about work life balance for me. I work in a sector where I could go quite high (150k plus if I put the work in) but I don't think I want the life that comes with it. Not all of it, anyway.

Just to be comfortable in my circumstances would do.

LionHearty · 13/01/2016 19:30

I want to earn enough so that I can help my children if they need it, have the occasional treat and not have to worry.

Once the house is paid I could manage very comfortably on £30k.

I started properly trading self employed in November.

My goal for the remained of this tax year is £1k net profit per month.

My goal for 2016-17 is £18k net profit

Ultimately I'm aiming for £45 net profit per year and would like to be at that point by 2019

Crazybaglady · 13/01/2016 21:30

My ultimate goal is pretty low

£45k per year I meant Wink

RJnomore1 · 13/01/2016 21:39

Local authority head of service so what, £55k here? In the next ten years preferably. Given the progress I've made in the last ten years it's on track.

I know I could earn much more in another profession but I feel like what I do matters.

MagicalHamSandwich · 13/01/2016 21:44

Around 250k. That's the current published salary for the position I am looking to end up in within the next decade. I want the job, not the money. Wouldn't know what to do with it TBH. I'm currently on about 110k and that's more than enough for my simple tastes.

BooAvenue · 13/01/2016 21:48

500k+ really.

Hopefully achievable in 10-15 years.

lljkk · 13/01/2016 21:51

Enough to pay the rent & have a bit left over.

OublietteBravo · 13/01/2016 21:52

I'd like my salary in £k to be twice my age. I'm not quite there yet (£68k at 40). I'm hopeful I'll be there by the time I'm 50.

RJnomore1 · 13/01/2016 21:53

You are making me feel under ambitious 😀

RJnomore1 · 13/01/2016 21:54

I guess I've never really thought in tens of salary - just what's the next job I want.

RudeElf · 13/01/2016 22:10

I have never actually landed on a figure. I just want to be very comfortable with enough to spare to take care of life if i cant work for whatever reason. I dont know how to put a number on that.
