Gym ombudsman???

If I have a dispute (financial) with my ex gym, is there a body like a gym ombudsman that I can go to if I am getting zero cummunication from the gym itself? (Other than credit dept letters, the 3 letters I have sent regarding the matter seem to have been completely ignored and telephoning them is equally a waste of time)

If they are threatening to pass my details and 'debt' (of £26!!!) onto a collection agency that will incur firther costs on my part, do I have the right to request they freeze the acccount as I am disputing them, and hence incur no further charges while the dispute is still ongoing?

i'd try the citizens advice bureau, the Small Claims Court and/or google Consumer Council (not sure that's the name). I don't think there's an ombudsman per se, but I would think these organisations might help.

Crack on pronto - as I'm sure you know, debt collection agencies are a pain to deal with.

Give your local Trading Standards a call...

Trading Standards although gyms are usually right because they make you sign mad contracts when you join
