I'm on Income Support and get child tax credits for my DD's.
I also have two DS's. Their Dad has temporary residency order until court decides who should get residency.
I feed the boys 7 meals a week during contact (mixture of breakfasts, lunches and dinners)
I don't get any finantial help for this and its a struggle to have enough food in to feed them all.
Can i apply for extra money from CTC even though they are not here full time?

I don;t think you can, but I guess your ex is getting the CTC for them, and he should pay towards the meals

Yes he gets the CTC for them.
Our Social worker asked him to volunteer to pay but he refused.

a few years ago we had dsd living with us part time and her mum was recieving ctc, and they told us we could only get some of it if dsd mum decided to voluntary give us some. So i dont really think there is much you can do about it unfortunatly

ISawTortoiseKissingSantaClaus · 19/11/2006 23:07

Thanks panda girl. I thought that might be the case. Its so unfair.

yes it is very unfair, we had dsd for 3 months without a single penny, in that time dsd mum had her for about 6 days the whole time. Its not good how they work these things out. Luckily we wasn't in the situation you are and i really fell for you

Thanks.
Might try phoning CTC see what they say. Anything is worth a try.

I'm sure it'll only be paid to who the children live with.
Same for child benefit.
Couldn't you be given some of that to cover your cost.
Or tell their dad that he must provide food for when you have them.
It's orth a try.

Thanks for your advice fussymummy.
I can't make a fuss to xp about food because he might try and get my contact reduced which i really don't want him to do.
I will just have to do the best i can food wise until court finishes.
