NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO. its christams consider it a pressie.

but then again, i'd feel guilty

southeastastra · 15/11/2006 09:09

no (i didn't say that )

Heavenis · 15/11/2006 09:27

They make so much money anyway, don't say a word.

Carmenere · 15/11/2006 09:30

Tell them because the person who sent the money back may have to pay it and it is Christmas soon after all and they may just let you keep the stuff anyway. Tell them because you will feel better.

Cappuccino · 15/11/2006 09:31

how will the person who sent the money back have to pay it?

Carmenere · 15/11/2006 09:35

In lots of businesses, particularly large ones, people who handle money are responsible for their mistakes.

LadyVickyOfBeckinghamPalace · 15/11/2006 09:38

I'd tell them Good Karma and all that eh?
I know you're not exactly lying if you din't tell them, but correcting their mistake will make you feel good

On another site I visit, a lady gained a free meal by telling lies.. I didn't agree with that either, she told them she was a mystery shopper (she isn't) and that her meal took too long to cook, they give her it free... I bloody hate liars.

Gem13 · 15/11/2006 09:47

I once had my wages docked by undercharging someone. I rang into the till something like £1.19 instead of £11.99. Easy mistake but they took the £10.80 out the following week and it was Christmas I only took home £90 normally anyhow so it was a big dent.

That said, when I have had things happen to me like this, I haven't always spoken up

edam · 15/11/2006 09:51

Tell them - I bet they'll let you keep the money anyway but you'll have a clear conscience and won't be worrying about any wages being docked.

curlew · 15/11/2006 10:50

I used to be a waitress and if we made mistakes it came out of our wages. Once a couple ordered two expensive meals and then said they had ordered something else. (They hadn't.) It came out of my wages and I went home with nothing for a night's work. Tell them. You wouldn't be happy spending the money anyway.

MerlinsBeard · 15/11/2006 10:54

i would tell them, they may realise their mistake and demand the money back just when you can't afford it

UCM · 15/11/2006 16:05

In my experience, something crap always happens if you keep it - tell them
