How much are you planning to spend this christmas? Told dh £80 and he laughed. Loud

I thought it was doable. The kids are both under 18months and won't notice.
DH just took a pay cut to enable him spend more time with us. I'm on mat leave (after taking on a new not-as-well-paying part-time job) with £108.85 MA paid weekly. I used to earn 1.5times what dh was earning but not anymore. Somehow, I get the impression that image is important to him as he just won't be seen to not be able to afford stuff (like tickets to premiership matches and pricey clothes).
I was wondering if anyone was doing christmas for £100 or less and how.

I agree totally with joolstoo.

The children get presents and we have stockings for the adults with a few small gifts.

I see it as a chance to have some time with family and friends with good food and wine. I cannot bear the orgy of spending that takes place this time of year.

Homemade presents for family. They LOVE it, and it doesn't cost so much.
