Could be a difficult one I know, but how much would you pay yourself if you were the director of your own company?

It is a big company with a 2 million pound turnover but not a big profit. the bank manager has suggested dh pay himself more as the company is cash rich. He says he couldn't justify paying himself more but I am fed up with being skint!

Doesn't the accountant advise on this kind of thing?

He needs an accountant to advise. It could be more tax efficient to take the money as out dividends to shareholders not as salary. Either way he can take out whatever the company can comfortably afford. Some companies run at a loss. He can't take out more than will put him in breach of his duties as a director however and put the company in jeopardy. Can't they cut costs and increase profits?
