Cash for clothes?

I have amassed a large amount of unwanted clothes and shoes, several bin bags full of stuff in good/very good condition. I cannot be bothered with Ebay but would welcome making a bit of money from them. Has anyone ever used one of these cash for clothes companies with payment per kg? How have you found it? Any recommendations, I live in Lancashire.

We have although it doesn't pay that much. There were two near us and the last time DH took some bags up, one had been shut down after trading standards had caught them with dodgy scales eg four pounds out!! So weigh the stuff yourself so you have so idea before you go snd hopefully then you won't be diddled.

I've used them and got the odd tenner. CBA selling, either.

If they are in very good condition, you could try a company called Twicely. They buy premium high street brands such as boden, joules, hollister, fat face etc. they send you a pre paid bag and make you an offer once they have inspected. I've sold them quite a lot of stuff and have been happy with the price that they offered. You could then maybe sell the rest on local Facebook selling pages/ Gumtree?

Thanks all, things to consider.

Hello CP

Car boot sale, table top sale 50p to £5 an item depends on condition

Cash for clothes usually pays per kilogram, but the rates are not good

I'd be careful about the cash for clothes companies, some are struggling with the amount of clothes they are getting and are months behind with payments. I reckon a car boot sale is a better option, and you'll probably get more cash that way.

I have sold clothes by booking a stall at my local child & baby market and doing job lots bundles on eBay.

H&M will give you a £5 voucher for a bag of clothes.

I sent a bag of clothes off to cash for clothes and I phoned as didn't receive a cheque and man assured me it was on the way, My family had sent bags to them before and received cheques. I then sent another bag. I didn't receive any cheque and that was two years ago. I think they closed down. Although I'm sure they got money for the bags of things I sent along with other people's. It's just sad that people can't be honest as I along with others have lost money. Which I'm sure we all could do with!
