Is it true that my ex can just pay money into a savings account for my 15yr ( nearly 16) old instead of maintenance?

That's it really. He claims that he doesn't have to pay me anything any more, as he will be putting lots of money into saving for her instead.

Is this right?

The first payment was due about 2 months from when I first claimed.

Yes of course they will take you seriously! Do you know where he works, have his NI number? They are very good at finding people btw. Have access to all sorts which is not in the public domain.

Go on - call them. They are great. I sobbed through the phone call and they were really good.

Aw, thanks for this! Do I have to wait to see if his payments have stopped first?
I just found his LinkedIn profile and I know who he works for but it's a mahoosive company.....I don't have his NI number though...

no you don't need to wait. I bet he isn't paying you the correct amount anyway. Take back the control - you will feel much better for it, and you will know where you are each month, rather than at his mercy waiting for him to deign to give you what you are legally entitled to.

I take it you will know a previous address for him as that would make it slightly easier for him to be tracked down, date of birth etc even if you need to make a best estimate on the year. Any information you can give at all helps them to track him down.

Ignore his comments about paying your mortgage because that mortgage is what is putting a roof over his daughters head so it is a perfectly justifiable expense with regards to maintenance.

Give the CMS all the information you have. They will start from there. As pp said, they have access to sources of information that are not in the public domain.

You have nothing to lose by contacting them.
