Just to put the cherry on top of my shit life, I have had to get in touch with the CCCS. Has anyone else done this?

oh....I thought it was going to be somthing really dodgy.

You shouldn't feel ashamed. Well done for trying to sort it all out.

I had to do this for dp (he wanted the help but wouldnt talk to them himself!). The phonecall lasts a while but woman i spoke to was really nice and very helpful. They sent a letter in the post beforehand with budgeting forms to fill out before the interview and they just go through it with you and help you discuss all your options. Dp is now on a debt management plan through them, they sent us all the letters to send to his various er is it creditors or debtors (sorry pg brain!) anyway people he owes money to. And we've rung them a few more times with various questions and they've always been really friendly and helpful and not at all patronising. Dp was dreading it at first, he also felt really ashamed and stupid and had been burying his head in the sand for a long time but he is so much happier now, its taken such a weight off him.
I agree with katiebird, you're taking control of things, its definitely a strong positive step, nothing to feel ashamed of at all

Don't worry - it should be fine, and they are supposed to offer impartial advice.

You are certainly not alone, there are more than 100,000 people going into formal insolvency this year alone and heaven knows how many more on informal plans ...

I sort of work in the industry so can help if you have any queries once you have spoken to them.
