Didnt know where to put this but hope someone can help. I will try and keep it short

Bought an approved mini from mini dealer in May. When I test drove it I mentioned the poor handling and was told i probably wasnt used to driving a car with sports suspension.
Anyway after a long (and scary) motorway journey I took it back and mentioned the handling problem again. I was told this was due to tyre pressures being a bit low.
Anyway another long journey later (very scary uncontrollable car at times) i have taken it back for a road test. Which they have refused to do because the 2 front tyres are bald.

Now, why would the tyres be bald after 4000 miles??

They have road tested it today with different wheels on and say there is no problem with car.

I want them to take it back, but they will only offer me £9200 for it (I paid 11500). I just dont know what me rights are or if i can go anywhere from here, hoping someone can help

Probably not too helpful, but my friend bought a brand new peugeuot, from a peugeuot dealer and had no end of problems with it, it was always going back for something.

Anyway in the end she told them she had booked an appontment with trading standards the following week and if they wanted to come uop with a sensible offer to buy the car back she would cancel it.

It wasnt a bluff, she really did have an apoointment because under the sales of goods act the product has to be fit for the purpose it was sold for, or some thing like that. And the car obviously wasnt.

Anyway, they rang her , and offered her I think what the car was worth now ( it was 2 years old byu then) and she accepted. But my god , did she have hassle over those 2 years.

Probably no help , but good luck x

thank you swift. I have only had it 4 months so I want them to give me back what I paid for it or near enough.
Thing is i cant prove its not fit for purpose, because they say its fine and I say its like bloody Christine

call trading standards. get it checked again by a different dealer and see what they say
