Goodbudget only has a limited amount free so maybe give that a go and swap to YNAB if you get into it.

I use YNAB and love it to bits. I use far more then the 20 envelopes I would get free with goodbudget so the one off payment for YNAB works out better value for me.

YNAB for us. You get a 34 day trial so you could try it without committing. I guarantee that you'll have made £30 back in savings before the trial ends, though!

I use an app called HomeBudget, it was free. I don't know how it compares to the others that have been mentioned as it is the only one I have used. I put in my regular bills (time consuming to start) then make categories for all other spending, and allocate an ideal budget. I regularly input all expenditiure .
At a glance I can see how much is left on different budgets and I can search on any words if I need to to know how much we have spent on x or y. It's helped me feel more on top of things and make decisions - eg if the eating out budget is spent, or an overspend on clothes means beans on toast for a week.
I chose a free one thinking that if it was good & I actually used it I would move on to a paid-for one. I use another similar free app for some building work we are doing, to log expenditure.
