Getting a second balance transfer card

I did a balance transfer of a credit card and due to a change of job and not being paid yet have ended up using the card again as short of money. Is it a good idea to get another card to transfer the balance to?

I'm really determined to get out of debt and stop relying on over draft but don't know what to do for the best Confused

Was it the original card or the balance transfer card you used? How much have you put on it and how long will it take to repay it?

I am guessing its the old card you have used, so now you have 2 cards with balances on them? I would advise you cut this one up right away, so you are not tempted again. Pay pay the one with the highest interest first. You are not alone, this is acommon problem when people have a card sitting with credit still available on it.

I haven't used the balance transfer card as I lose the 0% if I do. It has about £2000 on it I have 30 months to pay it. It's the original card I spent on again so stupid but we had no money to live off at the end of my mat leave

You sound like you're managing the debt well - it's over to a 0% card; you know not to use that card for additional spending; you have needed to borrow again (that's life) but know that it makes little sense to pay interest on your new debt. Sounds like you're not in a position to pay off the new debt immediately, so it makes most financial sense to get a new 0% card, if you're eligible. Then if you're concerned about falling into a vicious circle of the same thing happening again, then do cut up the original card and concentrate on paying off as much of the debt as you can while you have interest-free breathing space.

For extra peace of mind, destroy the PIN numbers of the balance transfer cards and file the actual cards away, so you are never tempted to use them!
