Amazon trying to charge me for a item they sent me by mistake

i bought a pair of snow boots in the black friday deals last month, Amazon made a cock up and sent me 2 pairs but obviously i only paid for one pair. they have now started sending me emails requesting i send them back or they are going to charge me for them (the original price, not the price i payed ). neither pair of boots came with any paper work or return labels and i dont have access to a computer. I think they are being a bit out of order threatening to take money from my bank for something i didnt order. i have suggested they post me return labels but im not sure if they will. Where do i stand if they take money out of my bank for the boot?

Have just had a email back saying they are very sorry for the mix up and they wont be charging me for the item, they are sending me a return label in the post so i can return them after christmas.

I use the live chat function with amazon and find them incredibly helpful. I've run out of paper s few times and been unable to print out labels. However, the he rested label makes it clear that you don't need to print out, you can just write the number clearly on a bit of paper and out it inside the parcel.

The live chat people have always arranged a courier to come and pick up any parcels from me and the courier has then stuck a label in the front. No problems and have always been notified of a one hour slit that they will pick up in

You could do the live chat and selfie the courier to pick up then you don't need to go out

I don't mind going to the post office, luckily the only thing our village does have is a post office and a pub Grin

I ordered a toy for my baby from amazon, opened the parcel and it was a box of 10 lever arch files! Emailed them, they replied straight away saying they were very sorry and would send me the original item via express delivery with no charge. Obviously I had to send the lever arch files back. I had to print a returns note and drop it at a newsagents but to be honest there wasn't much else they could do. I understand it's frustrating as you don't have a printer but people (even large companies) make mistake sometimes Smile. If I were you id give them a quick call and I'm sure they'll come up with a solution.

I didn't order 2 pairs, it was a black friday deal so you can only order 1 or each item so it was their cock up. The 2nd pair were not showing up on my account until this week ( probably when they realised they had sent me 2 pairs ).

Obviously it is their mistake to send you two pairs but they would have realised they sent you two pairs when you contacted them as soon as you received them to arrange a return? Or did you not contact them?
