Any ideas how I can stretch this, I still have to pay gas and electric (86) and all the food shopping for 4 people (6 at weekends when SD's are at ours).

I don't want to go into overdraft as this is why I only have £300 for this month!

Plus, I also need to have enough money to entertain my boys (2/3) for one treat a week (which usually is around £5 - swimming or something like that) the rest of the time is making cakes, playing camps, riding bikes or the park.

Top money saving tips needed!

I can't believe how many half bags we have thrown out over the years!

Now I feel really stupid, but is all veg the same?

Potatoes keep for months - that's how growers store them!

We grow our own and usually they last us 6 months or so. We find brown paper bags/sacks in a cook dark place work well.

Other veg - depends what it is really. Some doesn't keep well at all, some will keep for weeks. If you have some that's starting to look like it needs using, then either eat it, freeze it or make it into a soup and either eat or freeze it!

Don't plan any meal without first checking what veg you have in and trying to use that in your meal.

Not sure if this is allowed (mods please remove if it isn't) but I have found the www.moneysavingexpert.com website an absolute boon. Especially the forums. I regullarly use the old style money saving forum. Check it out it great.
