I am currently self employed and also have no childcare costs, I have been offered a job which on a personal level I would live to accept however financially it worrys me that childcare costs would end up crippling us. I know I wont know for definate unless I claim but I was wondering if anyone knew what % of childcare costs you can claim with a joint income of £36000? I have tried searching the internet but have found conflicting information.

Have a look on turn2us. It's pretty good.

Depends how many children you have there are diff cutoff levels one child about £26, two £32 so have a go with the turn2u to find if you are eligible for any help Smile

The cut offs of £26k for one child and £32k for two children are for child tax credits without childcare costs. The thresholds with childcare costs ( which i think is part of Working tax creidts) are much higher so you may be eligible for some help. As pp says, try the Turn2Us benefit calculater and put in potential childcare costs.
