I'm wondering if there's any where apart from food banks that offer help I put what I had left on electric and gas but I'm worried it's going to run out I have bits in the cupboard ie pasta and sauce ,spaghetti hoops
Have sausages in freezer and a pizza .cereals .i only get paid again in 3 weeks my tax credits is currently under review I've had an apparant overpayment I have appealed there decision but waiting for a reply . I should get child benefit tommorow but bank is overdrawn so so not going to be able to access it .

Great. Is he registered for Free School Meals anyway though? You should surely qualify, and then he can get assistance towards other things like school trips - and the school gets extra funding from government for him too.

do you have stock cupboard stuff like flour, sugar spices etc?

In my DS's school, children on free school meals also get some uniform free so it's worth seeing if your son is eligible for free school meals, as a status, rather than just because he's in Yr 1.

stressedoutmum10 · 23/09/2014 16:04

I did apply for school uniforms help but couldn't get it I don't no why I got a letter saying I'm not elegible .the free school meals is something the government have done for every child upto year 3 I think .

No I used to pay for school meals up until this term when the school meals thing came out other than that I don't think I'm ellegible .
I have sugar but don't have spices etc

Have you checked your local food bank - I find it hard to believe that any food bank would really just turn you away on your first visit, the one I am involved in (independent Church organised) would certainly help you. Please try and find out. Good Luck.

Hi no I kind of just took the cab/job centre at there word .everywhere I turned for help before the eviction told me no sorry your intentionally homeless and they told me it's my fault I hAd to spend my money on housing so would get no help
I will try and find the number for my local one and call them I think
Feeling much better today it's my sons birthday next week I have already got him some bits though been buying bits when I can previous to all this has any one ideas of any free things I can take him to In hoping my tax credits is paid out so I can get him a cake few more presents but I'm not relying on it as usually they wil say anything to get you of the phone
